How can I do my reservation?

Easiest and cheapest t is to do your reservation directly at our online booking at the webpage. If you want personal advice regarding your reservation you can also contact us on info@grandarctic.se or +46-(0)926-79530 and we look forward to helping you. Our package offers are always booked by e-mail or telephone.

How can I sleep during the midnight sun?

The rooms have blind out curtains so you shall be able to sleep but we warn you as you might not be as tired as usual when the sun never goes down. Your room is also equipped with a mosquito net in the window.

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes! Överkalix has one of the best tap waters in Sweden so we can really recommend for you to taste it.

How can I pay for my stay?

Grand Arctic Hotel accepts payments by credit card, Swish and cash. We do accept cards issued by VISA, Master Card, Dinner Club, Amercan Express. You may also pay for your room in Euros at the reception. You pay upon check in.

I want to experience something I've never done before, what can you suggest?

How about an exotic adventure chasing the northern lights on a photo excursion when season, see the midnight sun in the summer, snowmobile driving or learning how to master your own dog sled? We have many activities to offer, have a look at our activity page and contact us for booking.

Is it possible to have an extra bed in the room?

Yes, it can be fitted into all room types and is an additional 250 SEK / night including breakfast.

Can I bring my dog to the hotel?

Of course also your dog is welcome to stay with us. In some of our rooms pets are allowed and an additional fee of 250 SEK for one dog or 500 SEK for 2 dogs or more will apply. Please inform us that you're travelling with dog when you do your reservation. reservation.

Do you have children's cots?

Yes, you can add a children's cot to your reservation for 95 SEK / stay. In the restaurant we also offer child's high chairs.

Is it possible to swim in the river?

Yes, water is clean and fresh and there's a small pier below the hotel that you can use.

I want to arrive with my private helicopter, where is it possible to land?

Between the hotel and the river there's a helipad that you're most welcome to use.

How cold is it in the winter?

During the winter we sometimes experience temperatures down to -35 degrees celsius. However, most winter days have a temperature between 0 and -15 degrees and the air is very dry so the chilling effect isn't that high. We rent our full winter clothing and equipment including boos, gloves and hats so you don't have to be afraid of freezing. The cold nights also mean clear skies and a good chance to see the magic northern lights.

When can we check in?

You have guaranteed access to your room from 3 pm. If you want to check in earlier, please call us the day before arrival and we'll check the availability.

When is check out time?

Check out time is 11 am. If you wish to add late check out until 3 pm. it can be added for a surcharge of 195 SEK. If you leave before the reception opens, just leave the room key on the reception desk.

I have special food requirements, what to do?

Please inform us when doing your reservation about your special food requests such as gluten or lactose free and we will do our best to meet your requirements for breakfast.
